The Quarter Inch Collective have done it again. Another ‘quompilation’, another fine collection of covers featuring some of Ireland’s brightest emerging talents, including The Ambience Affair. It’s available to download for free for a limited time. Check out more Quarter Inch goodness at their main site. The QIC represent a number of artists including Ginola, Turning Down Sex and Flok. They also release music on tapes.

We’re not much into fightin’, shmokin’ or indeed drinkin’ but we’ve been enrolled in a musical brawl against the good people over at The Delphi Label.  Representing us on the night will be fresh new things The Debutantes from Galway, along with DJ-Sets from The Ambience Affair and Go Panda Go with Hector Castells providing some stunning Catalan visuals. Waiting in the wings will be a set from AdultRock and on the other side Hush War Cry from Cork, Sacred Animals and visual master Feel Good Lost await. It’s part of Independence Month at POD and will take place in Crawdaddy.

Doors are 8. Admission is €5. Curfew 3am.

As a little Christmas gift, Go Panda Go are releasing their RMXD EP as a free download on 25.12.11. The band have been joined in the remixing suite by Daithi O’Dronai, Dazboy and Frenchie. You can get it now for free here: gopandago.bandcamp.com

Following their nationwide tour in October, The Ambience Affair will be joining Lisa Hannigan on her upcoming Irish tour throughout December – playing four dates: Cork (dec 9th), Belfast (dec 13th), Limerick (dec 18th) & Vicar St in Dublin (dec 22nd).

All things considered, this has been a busy few months and after the summer season there is no let up in sight for the autumn and winter. Go Panda Go are back in the studio in Galway and will have some new news on a release soon.  The Casanova Wave has been busy gigging and recording too in Dublin and Waterford. Our first full-length release to date has come from The Ambience Affair whose simply brilliant (we would of course say that) album Burials has been warmly received from near and far. This release saw a nationwide tour, and the band are thrilled to have been asked to tour in December with Lisa Hannigan. 2011 is nearing completion. 2012 awaits…

Burials will be released on Friday 14th October and is now available to Pre-Order from theambienceaffair.com. Here is a stream of the album in full:
